FDIC deposit insurance on all accounts was increased to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013. Additionally, FDIC deposit insurance is unlimited on all non-interest bearing transaction accounts through December 31, 2009. Non-interest bearing transaction accounts include transaction accounts earning an interest rate of 0.50% or less.
